There are several methods of treating glaucoma, from simple eye drops, to laser treatments, and in some cases, surgery. Dr. Malat will help you explore all the options to help you figure out which is best for you.
Our
difference.
Our focus is you!
Caldwell Eyecare takes a different approach when it comes to eyecare. One based on our central philosophy– you, our patients, are the reason we exist.
To that end, we built our practice from the ground up as a complete departure to the “big box”, retail-driven trend that is becoming business as usual for so many practices. The starting point? Providing you with the best experience possible.
We start by limiting the amount of patients we see to about half the average amount of most our peers. This allows us to spend, what we feel is, the appropriate time to properly assess and consult with our patients. Dr. Malat and his team truly enjoy interacting with and understanding their patients’ needs and it shows from the minute you step into our office. Once you leave, they are there to help and advise with follow up and to make any adjustments necessary. Don’t be a number, come to us and see what it’s like when the focus is on you.

Our Services
At Caldwell Eyecare, we offer all your eyecare needs under one roof; from our comprehensive eye exams and full vision services including in-house labs to make everything as convenient as possible. Check out some of the services we offer below:
Comprehensive Eye Exams
The exam starts with a comfortable conversation to learn your history and uncover any relevant symptoms prior to the physical eye exam. After a series of computer assisted vision related testing, your eyes health evaluation will begin, which will include the pressure in your eye, and detailed evaluation of the back of the eye.
Glaucoma diagnosis & treatment
Cataract detection and surgical follow up
Cataract detection and treatment is part of our eye exam and why it is important for anyone over the age of 40 to be sure to schedule an exam once a year. Should you require surgery, the post surgery care and follow up are important to achieving the best results. We’ll be there for you for the follow up exam (usually the day after the surgery) and to answer questions throughout your recover process.
Lasik evaluation and co-management
After a thorough evaluation we can help you decide if you are an excellent candidate for Lasik surgery. If you decide to proceed, our findings will be forwarded to our lasik surgeon. Post-operative management will be provided by Dr. Malat, including multiple visits over a period of time after your surgery to include medical evaluation and management of the vision and corneal healing.
Dry Eye evaluation and treatment
Dry Eye is one of the most under diagnosed and under treated conditions when it comes to eye care. It can have multiple causes and can be treated in various ways, from artificial tears and medications to other options such as ointments, gels and punctual plugs. We will work with you to find the best solutions and fastest relief for your symptoms.
Low Vision and Low Vision aids
Low Vision is a loss of eyesight that cannot be improved with regular eyeglasses, medicine, or surgery. We can help you or your family member make the most of their remaining site by suggesting various devices that can help with many everyday tasks and in maintaining as much independence as possible.
