Dr. Glenn Malat
Born in the Bronx and raised in Queens, NY, Dr. Malat graduatedin1994 from the State University of New York, College of Optometry. Dr. Malat spent 12 years at East Side Eye Associates in Manhattan, building a loyal patient base and driving what is now the second largest contact lens practice in New York City. . He moved his focus to NJ, where he opened three successful practices, each allowing him the freedom to develop deep relationships with his patients and the communities he served. Today, Dr. Malat’s vision is focused on a single, brand new, state of the art eye care practice, supported by his staff of 26 years. (formerly Gurian Hearing and Vision) Caldwell Eyecare offers an in-house lab for digital free form eyeglass prescriptions, with quick service. He certified in the diagnosis and treatment of eye diseases, including kerataconus and low vision and the co-management of LASIK. He is also a referral source for difficult and hard to fit contact lens patients. Today, his expanded evening and weekend hours maximizes service and convenience for his patients. Dr. Malat is a resident and active member of the West Caldwell community. He has been happily married for 30 years to his elementary school sweetheart, and is father to two daughters, that you will often and proudly hear him describe as “super, amazing, strong and independent young women”.
His passion is his patients, especially first time contact lens fittings with his young patients. Over the years, he has been fortunate in seeing many of them grow into adults and then, in turn, bring their own children to see him–and to Dr. Malat, there is no greater satisfaction than to keep growing the Caldwell Eyecare family.
When he’s not in the office, he loves spending time with his family, friends and playing a little baseball.
